Have you ever wondered what happened to your favourite television character or movie hero once the screen went dark?
Perhaps the series finale of your show didn’t end the way you wanted it to, or you don’t like character x becoming involved with character y (you’d much rather see them take up with character b) if that sounds like you then you might be interested in reading some fan fiction.
People all over the world are taking pen in hand or putting finger to keyboard to re-hash, re-shape or re-invent their favourite television shows, characters and movies.
From All My Children to the X-files and Buffy to Xena there’s bound to be a story for you. From general to adult oriented stories and cannon (where the relationships follow along with the show) to slash/alternative (usually same gender pairings) and unconventional (where things differ from the original tv show or movie)
So the next time you yell at the screen because you don’t like the way show/movie is going try searching for a little fan fic - or better yet try your hand at writing your own.
