Ereader - Ever Thought of Getting One?

There is a lot of dispute whether one needs an eReader Device or not. The eReader is becoming ever more popular and even those who were against the gadgets can be seen in public with their Kindles, or other brands of eReaders.

There is, of course, a big satisfaction in reading a well bound book. You enjoy the process and you use your sense of touch and smell to supplement the enjoyment.

The eReader, on the other hand, seems to be just another electronic gadget that will complicate our lives rather then simplify them. I myself have always been a book person and never wanted to read off my computer.

When you read a book, you are engulfed by the experience. If it is not the first time reading that book, you can always reminisce what it was like to red it for the first time. Remember your surprise on the turn of the plot. Notice the stains and creases you accidentally made on some pages. So, books are my passion. Electronic reading is not.

Everything has changed last Christmas. My parents got me an Amazon Kindle eReader as gift, and oh boy was I confused. What were my parents thinking? Did they know me at all?

But, let me tell you this. When I settled down and got a chance to play with the Kindle a bit, I noticed that it was a lot different than I was thinking it would be. The first thing that struck me was the display.

The display on the eReaders, and on the Kindle as well, uses a technology called eInk. It makes the page look like it was real paper. There was absolutely no strain on my eyes.

After quite a while of playing with my Kindle I decided that it was not bad at all. I’m traveling a lot, and always have a few books in my luggage. But with the eReader I could take a lot more, with no additional weight.

Sure I will always have the comfort of my books at home, but when on the move this piece of equipment could become invaluable.

So, to answer the question, whether one needs an eReader device or not I think the answer is Yes. I wouldn’t throw all my books away, but having an eReader bag could be a good idea if you like to read on the move.
