After rampant promotions and advertising, the movie - The Ugly Truth was released. The movie has some strange logic that it has applied. The script was really weak and the logic was nothing but pathetic.

The logic was related to a woman finding the man of her dreams. Now according to this logic if you are a woman and you would like to find someone who maybe the one for you, you must first make sure that you are not a very successful person, you even be too smart, oh, and don’t forget, you can’t even be too stuck up with him.

Furthermore the movie tries to sell the idea that no matter what your salary cannot be more than the guy and that no matter how wise you are you have to act dumb in front of him. It also tried to sell the idea that a sleazy attitude will attract the man more towards the woman and the peak is when the woman releases the vagabond that she has been hiding inside her for many years. The men find this irresistible.

After reading this far, if you are still trying to go watch the movie, you will find that theres is nothing to watch because you have read it all. The three ladies who have written this script still seem to be living in some lost age. Katherine Heigl went a step ahead. She is not only the actress of this movie but also a co producer.

Heigl plays the role of a TV producer named Abby. By the bizarre twist of events she is thrown against her will into a segment of her show with Mark (Gerard butler). Mark looks down on women apparently but is a relationship advisor on the show. The show begins to suddenly do very well thanks to Mark’s genius advice to the viewers. The writers even threw in the old trick of getting the main lead to hate each other but turning that very hate into love.

In case you are trying to look for some extremely good chemistry between the two of the lead actrors. They have not been able to create a single flame in the entire movie. The performance was cold and dull. You will find that you will not want to hear Mike blabbering after a point because you just can’t understand what he is saying. The movie is definitely not a comedy.
